Who this is

Beth-shean was a Canaanite city belonging to Manasseh's territory at the junction of the Jezreel and Jordan valleys; after Saul's death in battle on nearby Gilboa, the Philistines hung his body and his sons' bodies on its walls until the men of Jabesh-gilead recovered them by night. Excavations at Tel Beth-shean uncovered an Egyptian garrison town from the New Kingdom period, including monumental stelae of pharaohs Seti I and Ramesses II describing campaigns to relieve the city, confirming Egypt's direct control over the site centuries before Saul's reign.
