A colonnaded stone street running between classical temple buildings toward a disc of light, on the printable Gospel of Luke timeline.

Free Printable Gospel of Luke Timeline

Luke wrote an orderly account and then built it deliberately: it opens in the Temple and closes in the Temple, with a long journey to Jerusalem occupying the middle third. This timeline follows that architecture rather than flattening Luke into a general life of Jesus.

Forty-three events across nine sections with 129 references. The material found only in Luke is marked as such throughout, which is most of the parables people know best: the Good Samaritan, the prodigal son, the rich fool, the persistent widow, Zacchaeus.

Who is it for?

For a study group working through one Gospel rather than all four, and for anyone who has noticed that Luke keeps returning to the same themes and wants to see the structure that makes it deliberate.

How does it print?

It is laid out for US Letter at 20 pages, portrait, on a light background so it does not drink a toner cartridge. It prints cleanly in black and white, though the section colours carry meaning and are worth having in colour if you can. Every page footer carries the source, so a copy handed round a class can always be traced back.
