Who this is

The Hebrew name, meaning "destruction" and rendered in Greek as Apollyon ("destroyer"), given to the angel ruling the demonic locusts released from the abyss in Revelation 9:11. Elsewhere in the Old Testament the same word simply personifies ruin or the realm of the dead rather than naming an individual being (Job 26:6, 28:22; Proverbs 15:11).
