Who this is

Abel-meholah was a town in the Jordan Valley, near Issachar's territory, along the route the defeated Midianites fled after Gideon's night attack (Judges 7:22). It was the birthplace and home of the prophet Elisha, whom Elijah found there plowing with oxen before calling him into his service (1 Kings 19:16, 19). It lay near where the Wadi el-Maleh opens into the Jordan Valley, south of Beth-shean.
