The youngest of the three sons of Korah the Levite and head of one of the Korahite family divisions (Exodus 6:24). The parallel genealogies in Chronicles call him Ebiasaph. His descendants later included lines of temple gatekeepers and singers, a striking legacy given that Korah himself led a rebellion against Moses and was destroyed for it.
