Who this is

Agabus was a Christian prophet in the early church who, at Antioch, predicted a severe famine that later occurred during the reign of Claudius, prompting the church to send relief to believers in Judea (Acts 11:27-30). Years later he met Paul at Caesarea and dramatically bound his own hands and feet with Paul's belt to warn that Paul would be arrested and handed over to the Gentiles if he went to Jerusalem, a warning Paul heeded as a caution but not a command to turn back (Acts 21:10-14). His famine prediction is one of the clearer instances in Acts of a specific, later-verified prophecy.
