Who this is

Alameth, elsewhere spelled Alemeth, names both a town and two different men in the Old Testament. The town was a Levitical city in Benjamin's territory, given to the priestly line of Aaron along with Geba and Anathoth (1 Chronicles 6:45); the parallel list in Joshua 21:18 calls the same town Almon. Among the men who share this name, one Alemeth was a son of Becher, a grandson of Benjamin (1 Chronicles 7:8), while a different Alemeth was one of the sons of Jehoadah, a descendant of Jonathan several generations removed who kept Saul's royal line alive after the northern kingdom had already fallen (1 Chronicles 8:36; 9:42).
