Easton's dictionary treats "Allon" as two unrelated items: an oak tree used as a boundary landmark on the border of Naphtali in Joshua 19:33, and a Simeonite named in the genealogy of 1 Chronicles 4:37, an ancestor of the clan that drove out the descendants of Ham from the valley of Gedor in the days of Hezekiah. The reference here, 1 Chronicles 4:37, belongs to the second, genealogical sense, so despite the place tag, the text actually names a person in a family line rather than a location.
