Ananias (Man living at the time of the New Testament)
He and his wife Sapphira sold land and brought the apostles part of the money as if it were all of it. Peter told him he had lied to God and not to people, and he dropped dead on the spot. Sapphira told the same lie a few hours later and died the same way.

Ananias sold a piece of property along with his wife Sapphira and brought only part of the proceeds to the apostles while claiming it was the full amount, and Peter confronted the lie directly, telling Ananias he hadn't lied to people but to God; Ananias dropped dead on the spot, and Sapphira met the same fate a few hours later when she repeated the same lie without knowing her husband was already dead. A different Ananias was the disciple in Damascus who restored Paul's sight and baptized him after his conversion, despite his own fear of the man who had been persecuting Christians.
