Who this is

Berea was a city in Macedonia where Paul and Silas went after being driven out of Thessalonica by an angry mob, and Luke commends the Bereans for examining the Scriptures daily to test Paul's teaching (Acts 17:10-11). Opposition from Thessalonica soon reached them too, forcing Paul to leave for Athens while Silas and Timothy stayed behind (Acts 17:13-14). The city survives today as Veria in northern Greece.
