Who this is

Beth-baal-meon lay east of the Jordan on the tableland allotted to Reuben, and appears under several related forms in the text, Baal-meon and Beon among them (Josh. 13:17; Num. 32:38). It later passed into Moabite hands, and Jeremiah names it among the Moabite towns facing judgment (Jer. 48:23). The site is usually located at Ma'in, a ruin a few miles southwest of Madaba whose name still echoes the ancient one.
