Who this is

Bethphage, meaning house of unripe figs, was a small village on the Mount of Olives near Bethany, on the road between Jericho and Jerusalem. It was there that Jesus sent two disciples ahead to fetch the donkey he rode into Jerusalem at the start of his triumphal entry (Matthew 21:1; Mark 11:1; Luke 19:29). Its exact site is uncertain, though tradition places it close to modern Bethany, now the West Bank town of al-Eizariya.
