Who this is

Cenchreae was the eastern harbor town of Corinth, on the Saronic Gulf, roughly seven miles from the city. Paul sailed from there after cutting his hair in fulfillment of a vow (Acts 18:18), and the town had its own church, in which Phoebe served as a deacon and patron whom Paul commends to the Romans (Romans 16:1). Excavations at the site have uncovered its ancient harbor works, confirming its role as one of Corinth's two ports.
