Who this is

The Chebar was a river or canal in Babylonia, in the region where Jewish exiles including Ezekiel were settled after Jerusalem's fall. It was by the Chebar that Ezekiel received his inaugural vision of God's glory and the living creatures, and several of his later visions are likewise dated to this location. Some scholars identify it with a great irrigation canal branching off the Euphrates near Nippur, where cuneiform tablets have since documented a Jewish exile community.
