Chileab was David's second son, born to Abigail after David married her following the death of her first husband Nabal (2 Samuel 3:3). He is called Daniel in 1 Chronicles 3:1. He is never mentioned again after his birth notice and is generally thought to have died young, since he plays no role in the succession disputes among David's other sons.
