Chinnereth (Sea of Galilee)
Before anyone called it Gennesaret or Tiberias, the lake was the Sea of Chinnereth, named for a fortified Canaanite city on its northwest shore. The town fell inside Naphtali's land. Under the plural Chinneroth it named the whole district, which Ben-hadad of Syria raided in Baasha's reign.

Chinnereth was a fortified Canaanite city near the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee that gave the lake its earliest biblical name, "the Sea of Chinnereth" (Numbers 34:11; Joshua 13:27), later known by its Greco-Roman names Gennesaret and Tiberias. It marked part of Naphtali's territory (Joshua 19:35), and in its plural form, Chinneroth, it named the surrounding district raided by Ben-hadad of Syria in the reign of Baasha (1 Kings 15:20).
