Better known as Clopas, named by John as the husband of one of the women named Mary who stood at the cross (John 19:25). Many identify him with the Cleopas of Luke 24:18, one of the two disciples who met the risen Jesus on the road to Emmaus, though the Greek spellings Klopas and Kleopas may represent two distinct names, one Aramaic and one Greek, rather than the same man.
