Who this is

Cozbi was a Midianite woman, daughter of a tribal chief named Zur, who was killed along with the Israelite man Zimri by Phinehas the priest for their open immorality at Baal-peor (Numbers 25:6-18). The incident, and the plague that followed it, was remembered afterward as a warning against intermarriage that led Israel into idolatry.
