The same name traced across the biblical canon and the Second Temple texts, side by side.

Dalmanutha

Who this is

Dalmanutha, on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, is named only in Mark's account of Jesus withdrawing there by boat after feeding the four thousand (Mark 8:10). Matthew's parallel account of the same trip names the destination as the region of Magdala instead (Matthew 15:39), suggesting the two names referred to neighboring or overlapping areas rather than two different events. No archaeological site has been confidently matched to the name.
