Who this is
Ekronite designates an inhabitant of Ekron, the northernmost of the five Philistine lordships. After the ark of the covenant brought plague to Ashdod and Gath, the Philistines sent it on to Ekron, whose people cried out in terror and demanded it be returned to Israel.
