Eliam (Warrior living at the time of United Monarchy)
One of David's thirty. He may well be the same Eliam who was Bathsheba's father.
One of David's thirty. He may well be the same Eliam who was Bathsheba's father.
Eliam appears in two contexts that may describe the same man: as the father of Bathsheba, David's wife (2 Samuel 11:3, where Chronicles gives his name as Ammiel), and as the son of David's counselor Ahithophel and one of David's elite thirty warriors (2 Samuel 23:34). If the two references are the same person, it would mean Bathsheba was Ahithophel's granddaughter, which some read as a motive behind Ahithophel's bitter betrayal of David during Absalom's revolt (2 Samuel 15-17).
