Who this is

Emmor is the Greek form of Hamor, the father of Shechem and prince of the Canaanite city of Shechem in Genesis 33-34. Stephen refers to him in Acts 7:16 as the one from whom Abraham purchased a burial site, though Genesis attributes that purchase to Jacob, a detail many read as Stephen collapsing two separate patriarchal land purchases from Genesis 23 and 33 into one for the sake of a concise speech.
