Who this is

Eshtaol was a town in the Shephelah of Judah later allotted to Dan (Joshua 15:33; 19:41), remembered chiefly as the place where Samson grew up and where the Spirit of the Lord first began to stir him (Judges 13:25). From here the Danites sent spies north to find territory to settle (Judges 18:2, 8, 11), and Samson was buried nearby, between Zorah and Eshtaol, in his father's tomb (Judges 16:31).
