Who this is

Eshtemoa was a priestly town in the hill country of Judah south of Hebron, allotted with its pastureland to the Kohathite priests (Joshua 21:14); David sent part of the plunder from his raid on the Amalekites to its elders as a gift for their friendship during his years as an outlaw (1 Samuel 30:28). It survives as the Palestinian village of es-Samu, where ancient ruins have been found.
