Who this is

Ethiopian here refers to the treasury official of the Ethiopian queen known as the Candace, an Ethiopian eunuch whom Philip met on the road from Jerusalem to Gaza while he was reading the prophet Isaiah (Acts 8:27). Philip explained that the passage pointed to Jesus, and the official was baptized on the spot, one of the earliest signs in Acts of the gospel reaching beyond Jewish and Samaritan boundaries.
