Who this is

Evi was one of five Midianite kings, described elsewhere as princes vassal to the Amorite king Sihon, killed by Israel's forces in the war of vengeance against Midian (Numbers 31:8), and his territory is recalled among the lands allotted afterward (Joshua 13:21). The campaign was ordered in response to Midian's role in luring Israel into idolatry and immorality at Baal-peor (Numbers 25; 31:1-2). Nothing more is known of Evi individually.
