Who this is

Galatia was a region and later Roman province in central Asia Minor, named for the Gaulish tribes who settled there after migrating from Europe in the third century BC. Rome annexed it as a province in 25 BC, and Paul addressed one of his sharpest letters to churches there, arguing against teachers who wanted Gentile believers to adopt circumcision and the Jewish law. Peter's first letter and Paul's note that Crescens had departed for Galatia (2 Timothy 4:10) show the region remained a center of early Christian activity.
