Who this is

Gibbethon was a Philistine city in Dan's territory that had been assigned to the Levite family of Kohath (Joshua 19:44; 21:23), though it evidently remained under Philistine control for much of Israel's history. King Nadab of Israel was besieging it when his own officer Baasha assassinated him and seized the throne (1 Kings 15:27), and a generation later King Elah met the same fate while his army was again besieging the city (1 Kings 16:15-17).
