Who this is

This entity's one canonical reference, 1 Chronicles 2:49, names Gibea as a Judahite clan or settlement founded by a descendant of Caleb, in the genealogical style where Chronicles calls a clan's founder "father of" the town he settled. It should not be confused with the far better known Gibeah of Benjamin, Saul's hometown and later royal residence, site of the outrage against a Levite's concubine that nearly destroyed the tribe of Benjamin (Judges 19-20); that is a different town in a different tribal territory, even though both carry the common Hebrew word for "hill." Nothing more is recorded about this Judahite Gibea, and its site is unidentified.
