Who this is

Habaiah headed a priestly family that returned from Babylonian exile but could not produce genealogical records proving descent from Aaron. As a result its members were barred from serving as priests and from eating the priests' portion of offerings until the matter could be settled by the high priest using the Urim and Thummim, a resolution the record does not describe as ever occurring (Ezra 2:61-63; Nehemiah 7:63-65).
