Who this is

Jairus was a ruler of the synagogue at Capernaum whose twelve-year-old daughter was dying when he came to Jesus for help. While Jesus was delayed healing a woman on the way, word came that the girl had died, but Jesus went to the house anyway and raised her (Mark 5:21-43; Luke 8:41-56).
