Japhia is a name shared by a place and two men. It names a town on the southern border of Zebulun near Nazareth (Joshua 19:12); a king of Lachish who joined the Amorite coalition against Joshua and was defeated and killed (Joshua 10:3, 5); and a son born to David in Jerusalem (2 Samuel 5:15).
