Joanna was the name of two figures connected to Luke's Gospel. One was an ancestor of Jesus in Luke's genealogy, apparently the same man Chronicles calls Hananiah, a descendant of Zerubbabel (Luke 3:27; 1 Chronicles 3:19). The other Joanna was the wife of Chuza, a steward of Herod Antipas; she helped support Jesus' ministry financially, and she was among the women who found the empty tomb and reported it to the apostles (Luke 8:3; 24:10).
