Who this is

A different Joseph, a descendant of David from the town of Nazareth, was engaged to Mary when she was found to be pregnant before their marriage, and an angel convinced him in a dream to go through with the wedding rather than quietly break the engagement. He raised Jesus as his legal father, and Scripture gives no record of him after Jesus's boyhood, which is usually taken to mean he had died before Jesus's public ministry began.
