Karkor, a place East of the Jordan

Who this is

Karkor lay in the desert country east of the Jordan, beyond Succoth and Penuel, where Gideon finally caught up with the fleeing Midianite kings Zebah and Zalmunna and routed their remaining forces (Judges 8:10-12). The rout there ended the Midianite oppression that had driven Israel to hide in mountain caves for seven years. Its precise site is unidentified.
