First, in plain English

Who this is

Two men named Lamech appear in Genesis. One was a descendant of Cain notorious for boasting to his two wives that he had killed a young man for merely wounding him, escalating the violence Cain's own murder had introduced. The other Lamech was Noah's father, from the righteous line through Seth, and he named his son Noah expressing hope that he would bring relief from the painful labor of farming cursed ground.
