Lydia (Woman living at the time of the New Testament)
She sold purple cloth, came from Thyatira, and lived in Philippi when Paul arrived. She already worshipped God, and after hearing Paul by the river she and her household were baptised, apparently the first converts in Europe. Then she put Paul and his companions up in her house.

Lydia was a merchant from Thyatira dealing in purple cloth who was living in Philippi when Paul arrived there. She was already a worshiper of God, and after hearing Paul preach by the riverside she and her household were baptized, making her apparently the first convert in Europe; she then hosted Paul and his companions in her home (Acts 16:14-15, 40).
