Who this is

Nathan was the prophet who confronted King David over his affair with Bathsheba and the killing of her husband Uriah, using a parable about a rich man stealing a poor man's only lamb to trap David into condemning his own sin before he realized the story was about him. He had earlier delivered God's promise that David's dynasty would last forever, and he later helped secure the throne for Solomon over a rival half-brother when David was dying. A son of David was also named Nathan, and appears in Luke's genealogy of Jesus rather than Matthew's.
