First, in plain English

Luke's Greek spelling of Nineveh. Jesus says the men of Nineve will rise up in judgment against his own generation, since they repented at Jonah's preaching and someone greater than Jonah was now standing in front of them.

Who this is

The Greek form of Nineveh, used in Luke's account of Jesus warning that "the men of Nineve" will rise up in judgment against his own unrepentant generation, because Nineveh repented at the preaching of Jonah while someone greater than Jonah stood unheeded before Israel (Luke 11:32). Nineveh, once the capital of the Assyrian Empire on the Tigris opposite modern Mosul, is richly documented archaeologically, including Sennacherib's palace reliefs and the library of Ashurbanipal recovered from its ruins.
