The same name traced across the biblical canon and the Second Temple texts, side by side.
Obadiah (Man living at the time of Divided Monarchy)
Obadiah's short prophetic book, the shortest in the Old Testament, is directed entirely against Edom for gloating over and looting Jerusalem's destruction instead of helping their relative nation Israel, despite Edom's own descent from Esau, Jacob's brother.

Almost nothing is known about Obadiah himself, and the name was common enough that at least a dozen other men in the Old Testament share it, including a righteous official under Ahab who hid a hundred prophets from Jezebel's persecution.
