Pamphylia was a coastal province of southern Asia Minor between Lycia and Cilicia; Jews from Pamphylia were present in Jerusalem at Pentecost (Acts 2:10), and Paul and Barnabas landed at its capital, Perga, at the start of their inland journey through Asia Minor (Acts 13:13). It was here that John Mark left the mission and turned back to Jerusalem, a decision that later caused Paul and Barnabas to part ways (Acts 15:38).
