Who this is

Ptolemais was the Greek name given to the ancient port city of Acco after one of the Ptolemaic kings of Egypt took control of the Syrian coast, and it is the name Luke uses for the stop where Paul greeted the local believers on his final journey to Jerusalem (Acts 21:7). Excavations at Tel Akko, the older mound east of the modern city, and at Hellenistic-era harbor works on the coast have traced the site's occupation back to the early Bronze Age and confirmed it as one of the largest ports on the Levantine coast in the Hellenistic period.
