Publius was the leading official of the island of Malta who hospitably received Paul and his shipwrecked companions for three days. When Paul healed his father of fever and dysentery, and then others on the island who were sick, Publius and the islanders honored the travelers and supplied them for the rest of their voyage (Acts 28:7-10).
