Who this is

Regem-melech was one of two men, along with Sherezer, sent by the Jewish community at Bethel to Jerusalem in the fourth year of Darius to ask the priests and prophets whether the fasts commemorating the temple's destruction should continue now that the exile had ended (Zechariah 7:2). The question sparked the series of oracles that follow in Zechariah 7 and 8. Nothing else is known of him beyond this diplomatic mission.
