Who this is

Shebam was a pastoral town east of the Jordan, in territory taken from Sihon, requested by and eventually granted to the tribes of Reuben and Gad because of its excellent grazing land (Numbers 32:3-4, 38). It is likely the same place called Sibmah elsewhere, later famous for its vineyards until Moab overran it (Isaiah 16:8-9; Jeremiah 48:32).
