Who this is
Shimeah was one of David's brothers, a son of Jesse, and the father of Jonadab, the shrewd nephew who advised Amnon in his plot against Tamar (2 Samuel 13:3); he is also called Shimea elsewhere. A second, unrelated Shimeah was a Benjamite descended from Gibeon, also known as Shimeam (1 Chronicles 8:32; 9:38).
