Who this is

Two people carry this name in the Old Testament. One was the mother of Jehozabad, a royal servant who joined a conspiracy that killed King Joash of Judah; she is called a Moabite and also named Shimrith elsewhere (2 Kings 12:21; 2 Chronicles 24:26). The other was a man of the tribe of Asher, also called Shamer, listed among the heads of his clan (1 Chronicles 7:32, 34).
