Village in Issachar's territory near Jezreel where the Philistines camped before the battle in which Saul and his sons died on Mount Gilboa (1 Sam. 28:4). It was also home to the woman who built a room for Elisha to stay in whenever he passed through, and whose son the prophet raised from the dead there (2 Kings 4:8-37). The site is preserved in the name of the modern village of Sulam.
