Who this is

Taanach was a royal Canaanite city on the southwest edge of the Jezreel Valley, near Megiddo, whose king Joshua defeated (Joshua 12:21); it was later assigned to the Levites of Kohath, though its Canaanite population was never fully driven out (Judges 1:27). It figures in Deborah's victory song as one of the battle sites near "the waters of Megiddo" (Judges 5:19), and excavations at the site have uncovered Canaanite cult objects and fortifications spanning the period these accounts describe.
