Who this is

Teresh was a eunuch who guarded the entrance to the palace of the Persian king Ahasuerus, commonly identified with Xerxes I. Along with a fellow guard, Bigthan, he plotted to assassinate the king, but Mordecai learned of the conspiracy and reported it, and the two men were executed. The record of Mordecai's service was later read to the king and became the turning point that led to Mordecai's promotion (Esther 2:21-23; 6:1-3).
